It's been a long time since the last update. Alot has happened. Here's the main points.
-Quartz Relic is no longer in Krondor Krew
-A computer with an albums worth of material was stolen.
-Shamus Oddish has become more active members in MagiTek
-Kashke has joined MagiTek
-The entire group is now located in Orlando.
And that brings us to the preasent. The band is currently hard at work on a new release. New tracks are evolving every day.
It's really to early to talk about the nature of this project right now. It's still forming. This time we're just going to let it
happen naturally. Just expect new tracks to be popping up here and there in the near future.
There are 2 live shows on the way. The first one is at Austin's Coffee and FIlm
on May 31st at 8pm. It's a free show, some come check us out if you're in the area.
We are also playing the second day of Nerdapalooza this year.
We're going to be the first band playing on day two, so come early....and expect some new songs.

So I know it's been a few weeks, but we figured we'd quickly give a run down of what happened at Nerdapalooza SE. The show was alot of fun. MagiTek played 4th so there
wasn't much of a crowd, but those that were there seemed to enjoy the set. We played a brand new track entitled "This Toss" which will most likely show up on the next
Cd we drop. More on that as it developes. Don't hold your breath though. A new disc is a long way off. To read J's blog about the event click
here. No shows lined up at the moment, but hopefully that will change in the near future. We're gonna be focusing on recording some new tracks for now. We'll keep ya posted.

MagiTek is playing their second show on August 25 up in Gainsville at Tim and Terry's. We got some surprises lined up so make it if you can.

What's up everyone? Just stopping by to let everyone know that a new track has been released. It's a Thugmasta J track entitled "Fresh From The Rivers Down Below" and it's the first song that we've made
that may end up on the new album. We're gonna leak a track every now and then to let everyone know we're still busy. Anyway, it can be downloaded
here. Enjoy!

Ahhh, feels good to finish some touch ups while also finishing off some fried chicken. J and I have modified or added a few things around the site. Mostly in the Band Members section and Music/Audio. We cleaned up some links, lists, etc.I also fixed all the mp3 tags around the site, from the few old tracks we have here to the full download of "Distorting Reality For Better Perception".
Still set to play our 2nd show on August 25th in Gainesville, Florida. We're part of an all day festival event showcasing unique geeky music and nerdcore acts. As soon as it's all completely solidified we'll spread the word and details. Now concerning new muzaks...
Looks like we couldnt go a year after finishing our last album without another one taking form...although very loosely. It should be noted that we have been and will be in "laid back chill mode" for an extended period time, so it's not like we have anything substantial yet. New stuff will be made when we feel like it, and maybe you'll see a completely new album next year. In the meantime we're strongly considering a new EP of revamped older era MagiTek tracks. A great deal of them deserve to be brought back and up to speed.
Already about halfway through the year...crapshaith. Well, it's been a good one so far!

Sorry for the lack of updates. There actually has been a lot going on, but we were having some technical issues. I'll get everyone up to speed. I guess the first thing worth mentioning is
Stranded. It's a track we threw together with
Krondor Krew,
ZeaLous1, and Mega Brain 30. Give it a listen. It's over in the Web Exclusives section.
Secondly, MagiTek did play their first show at Atomic Garage in PSL on April 28th. We got a great response and everyone said we killed. There are some pictures from that event in the Images section. J has a write-up about the experience in his Live Journal. So does Mathaeis.
Here's a nice little announcement for your ear. MagiTek will be playing another show, this time at Tim and Terry's up in Gainesville on August 25th. Not much info has been finalized. More on that as it becomes available.
Finally, we should probably let it be known that there are new tracks in the works. Early forms...
March 6, 2007
Remember the last update where we were talking about a crossover track with
Krondor Krew? Well we finished it and it made it onto
Rhyme Torrents Volume 6. Rhyme Torrents is basically a compilation cd for nerdcore rappers. We're track 23 on there. Give it a download and check out some of the other nerdyness on there.
So what's next for MagiTek? You'll be hearing something new sooner then you think.
January 23, 2007
Well here we are, already a quite a few steps into the new year. It's been a while since we last updated, and so much has occcured, so it is prime time time for another state of the MagiTek address.
First off, last year was a good year for MagiTek. We buckled down and finally finished up and released "Distorting Reality for
Better Perception". It is largely regarded as our best creation to date. We managed to get the album in the hands of more than a few groups of friends. Can't say that it sold many copies, but we haven't given up on promoting it. In fact, promoting that album is something we will focus on in this new year. Particularly with finding more people who might connect to our vibe. The internet is of course a large part of this.
So what have the time trippers been up to since the album was completed? Well, things have shifted a great deal. Thugmasta J has relocated to living in Orlando. Quartz on the other hand still resides in MagiTek's original stomping grounds, the 772 (PSL). MagiTek was originally going to take a kind of hiatus or rest. We planned on maybe producing some new material here and there, but thanks to easy development and web communication, various new tracks are in the works and new ideas are being hatched every day. More so then ever before, actually. Most of our previous work had been very conceptual, thematic and fantasy based. While those elements will always be within MagiTek Music, we are currently expanding and evolving with broader subject matter, tools, and styles.
A good part of this is due to our involvement with Krondor
Krew. Most notably Quartz Relic, who has become their third member. He is contributing raps, tracks and mixing on their first official self produced release. Be on the look out for that because it should be sexy in a stealthy kind
of way. And since MagiTek is taking a more natural approach to creating music, it's only natural that collaborations with Krondor Krew would take place. There is a crossover track nearly completed entitled "Sky Scraper". It's a story rap deep action track, that flat out kicks ass. Expect that in the next month or so.
The last thing worth mentioning is the first ever MagiTek show. That's right, MagiTek will actually be playing live. It'll be
on April 28th at The Atomic Garage in Fort Pierce, Florida. The event is a nerdcore show hosted by Krondor Krew featuring Funky 49,
Emergency Pizza Party, Chef Dick, and mcRT. Shaping up to be awesome, but some details are tentative. More on that as it draws closer.
Finally, we're proud to announce that Distorting Reality for Better Perception is now available for download in it's entirety. It's time we sit back and let the music speak for itself.
In the past, we charged for it, but we figure exposure is better then attempting to make a buck. Anyways, download and enjoy MagiTek's currrent magnum opus.
So as you can see, there is a lot going on, even more than described here. The essentials have been covered though. Like underwear. The next updates will be Sky Scraper. Til then, remember, the
possibilities are endless.
August 14, 2006
Hey there M-Tek fans. There is a new track available for download in the Web Exclusives section. Its a remix of Craziest Dreams thrown together by Thugmasta J. It was made for fun over the course of 3 days. Give it a download and do that silly dance you do in front of the monitor when you think you're alone. Huh? That's right. We can still see you....
August 2, 2006
Quick update. Three new images have been added to the image section. Check em out if you're interested.
July 26, 2006
Well, the day has finally arrived. The new MagiTek album entitled "Distorting Reality For Better Perception" is finished and available for purchase. If you'd like to sample the goods we've made a few of the tracks available in their entirety at the music/audio section. There will also be others on the MagiTek Myspace page. If you like what you hear, head to our shop and buy it.
The road to get here was long and sometimes arduous. Sometimes we went crazy (moreso than usual), sometimes we settled for less, and sometimes we had unexpected boosts of clarity and focus. This is by far the greatest work that either of us have done. It's incredibly fulfilling to see the fruits of our labor. We hope you like it as much as we do.
Expect more updates in the next couple months supplementing the album's wake, such as related art, audio, and whatever new projects may arise.
Enjoy! A new era is dawning.
July 9, 2006
Hey everyone. The CDs are being printed and shipped out to us as we speak. We haven't decided on a price yet for those, but they'll be ready for your consumption later this week.
In the mean time we got a little something to get your ear around. We recently did a little collaboration with our homies the Krondor Krew. The result is a track called Gotcha Ladies. Give it a listen. It's funny and fresh. We also got another track in the works with these ninjas, so keep an eye out for that.
June 26, 2006
First off, we're not liars. We meant to have the album done by now. There is no doubt in our minds that the new album will be packaged, printed, and available in the next 3 weeks.
That being said, today is the launch date for the 4th incarnation of the MagiTek site. We got plenty of cool stuff for you to check out, and expect alot more in the future.
May 8, 2006
ONLY A FEW MORE WEEKS. WE SWEAR. A RELEASE DATE HAS NOT BEEN FINALIZED, BUT IT IS TRULY ON THE HORIZON.
That being said, we thought it would be good to post a link to the ressurected MagiTek MySpace page.
It was a cave in for us, but it has to be admitted that the most popular internet social ring wil probably be one of the better places for people to hear our tunes. It would be better if we got more traffic here, though. Which is more likely in the future with the new design on the way.
Anyways check out the new track "Culture Kings" there. It be tight and stuff.
February 13, 2006
We know it's been quite a while, but here is definitive proof that MagiTek's third album, "Distorting Reality For Better Perception", is truly almost complete. It's been a busy time for us, and when we haven't been doing what we need to get by, we've been relaxing (distracted). All obstacles will be brushed aside, and this beautiful beast of three years labor will be born....no later than early April. REALLY!
Anyways, the most important part of this update, and possibly any ever, is the sampler for the new album. Formed from 10 of the albums 16 final tracks, we quickly threw it together to give you a nice mix up of brief song clips. Some of what you'll hear isn't completely finalized, but like I said, we're pretty damn close.

October 04, 2005
The Music section of the site has been updated. The MagiTek discography is now more complete as a result.
August 27, 2005
Well, we've had this track called Coffee Break sitting around for a while now. It was supposed to be on the next album, but it just wouldn't fit right. So instead of wasting it, here it is for your consumption. Oh yeah. Life's Blood.
August 24, 2005
Hey everyone, it's been a while. It's time for the State of the MagiTek Address:
So, what's with the new album? I can honestly say that there has been alot of progress as of late. Lyrics are getting recorded and tracks are being mixed. As of right now, we have 3 tracks at 99% completion and 6 that are probably at 90%, and 7 that still need a good amount of work.
Our newest track is a track about video games and Shamus adds his freshness to it. The more I listen to it, the better it sounds. If the rest of the album comes off as cool as this track, it will be awesome.
I honestly have no idea when we will be done. It's hard to make a quality album when both members of the group have full time jobs. We only really get to work hardcore on weekends. Sometimes we get alot done, and sometimes we are so burned out from the week that we end up just hanging out and watching movies.
Here's the thing though, we're not gonna sacrifice quality to bring it out faster. This could quite possibly be the last MagiTek album for a long time. I don't wanna overhype it or anything, but when it comes out, we want it to be the best album we can produce.
Don't hold your breath waiting for it to come out. Just know in the back of your mind that we are still hard at work on it. And one day, BOOM! Fresh MagiTek goodness.
J signing off, laters!
June 2, 2005
Magitek has purchased the domain name www.magitekonline.com. Please update your bookmarks.
March 14, 2005
I now present to you the cover of the next album:
February 13, 2005
Two weeks ago, Quartz had a cold. So MagiTek didn't record any vocals. Last week, J had a cold. So MagiTek didn't record any vocals. This week though, MagiTek practically finished a song. Wicked Noize is 90% complete. It was a productive week and early next week the track will be done. Then that will be one song done. Next song.
January 11, 2005
Phase 1 of recording the next MagiTek disc is now over. All the music is recorded. Now it is just a matter of rapping and mixing.
December 12, 2004
Recording "Distorting Reality for Better Perception" isn't going as smoothly as we planned, but progress is still being made. Here's what we have left to do: 1) Record the music for 4 more tracks. 2) Add vocals to all tracks. 3) Finish up album art work.
See. Not bad at all.
MagiTek recomends Metal Gear Solid 3 if you want to play a good game. Til next time shekkos!
November 14, 2004
Another recording session went down this week. We hit some snags, so we only got 2 tracks recorded. So now we have 8 tracks awaiting vocals and mastering. We still have many more to record as well. Once it's all recorded though, the rest should be easy. We'll keep you updated.
October 27, 2004
Good news everybody. MagiTek has finally started recording the new album. As it stands, 6 tracks are recorded. They aren't in their finished forms, but it's a step in the right directions. News should start happening a bit more frequently now. The songs are sounding good. Stay tuned for more freshness.
September 12, 2004
Well, Hurricane Frances did a number on us, but I think things are getting back to normal. On the bright side, since nothing was open, we got alot of MagiTek work done. We might even be adding a few new tracks last minute. We'll see. Anyway, everyone is safe, although things were quite uncomfortable for a few days. The experience also inspired us a bit. More to come.
August 20, 2004

There will also be some internet exclusives coming your way soon too. MagiTek is the Fire.
August 15, 2004
Hurricane Charley may have put our server down for a day, but it couldn't front on MagiTek. It stayed the hell away from Port Saint Lucie because it sensed Quartz and J's immense power. Even mother nature can't stop the coming of the next MagiTek album.
August 5, 2004
We did something like this last year, so I guess It's time I give the 2004 State of the MagiTek Address. Things have been kind of uneventful MagiTekwise this year. It's hard making an album when one of your core members is away at college, and the other one is busy with work. So where are we at now?
First, J has finished College and move back to Port Saint Lucie. Second, Quartz has moved into an apartment. These two changes mean that MagiTek will start being more productive again. J will be around, and since Quartz has his apartment, we also have a studio. I know this won't be the first time you've heard this from us, but the album is getting close. It's just a matter of pulling it all together.
I guess I should also mention that the new album will be pretty much all Quartz and J. Having Shadow in the band just wasn't working out. He influenced the new album, but he probably won't be appearing on it.
That's all for now, stay tuned for more updates.
July 29, 2004
In the Another Sphere Live Journal Community, Quartz has listed an incomplete track listing for the new album. New tracknames include:Craziest Dreams, Distorting Reality For Better Perception, Anaphylaxis, Radical, Armagetdown, Hentai (the perversion), Days that dont come, Wicked Boyz, and Special Addiction.
July 28, 2004
There are 4 new tracks in the download section. We started a web exclusive section so you can hear tracks that didn't quite fit on any album. Speaking of albums, MagiTek's 4th disc "Distorting Reality for Better Perception" will be recorded very soon. As soon as we get more details, we will fill you in right here.
March 2, 2004
New MagiTek themed live journal avatars have been put in the extras section. Now you can post with style!
January 3, 2004
Just a minor update today. The Links section is up. Now you can see what we see when you surf the net. Ok, til next time. Later.
December 16, 2003
Updated and archived the News section. Other minor site work done as well. On bigger news, the band have been working like cats on crack to get the album done. It's in it's final phase now.. Album title and track listing coming soon.
December 14, 2003
MagiTek is back on track. The band is working hard on a new album. Rok. This is a pretty big update. First of all, we have a store. Isn't that bitchin? It has MagiTek shirts, thongs, hoodies, mugs, mouse pads, and even a lunch box. w00t. Also we have a new AIM icon in the Extras section. It's animated and pretty. Well maybe not pretty. I think fresh is a better word. It's animated and fresh. There. That's better. So enjoy the updates. And enjoy your stay.
November 21, 2003
Hey, how's it goin'. Ahem. Is this thing on? It is? Ok. Introducing a brand new section of MagiTek Online. It's called the extras section. It has cool MagiTek Wallpapers and Aim Icons. It's our way of saying "Here, have some cool stuff". Ok, I'm going back to my seat now. Oh yeah, and I hope the bride and groom have a happy life together. Ok, back to the party...
October 20, 2003
We just put up a new MagiTek Comic! They are making less and less sense these days. Anyway, they are pretty easy to make, so expect them to pop up more often than they used to.
October 8, 2003
MagiTek Online has just switched servers. This means no more ads and pop ups folks. We hated them so they're gone. Our new server is real comfy and has lots of space. As a result, some MagiTek songs can now be downloaded from the site. That's right Ninjas!
August 8, 2003
The comics section has been updated with a new comic! Stay tuned for more awesome updates!
August 7, 2003
The comics section to the site has been reactivated. No new comics, but now they're back. Enjoy the sillyness.
August 5, 2003
The samplers were gone after an hour I hear. Next con we're gonna have albums for sale. Stay tuned for details on that.
July 31, 2003
Quartz Relic will be selling "Dimensional Rhythm 2003: The Best" samplers at AFO in Orlando this Saturday and Sunday. They will be sold for a dollar each and you can find him in the artist gallery. That's the plan anyway. So if you're gonna be there, and you want a sampler, stop by and meet one of the guys responsible for this music.
August 9, 2002
Yo MagiTek Fans. We have just released a new CD. It's called Overflow. Alas, it is't new material. Instead, it is a collection of old rejected shit from the vault. The lyrics are up so check them out shekky! If you want a copy, ask me or e-mail me. It's free, It's 32 tracks, and it has poor sound quality. Just the way you like it.
July 2, 2002
Hey peoples, MagiTek is about to put out a new cd. That's all I'll say at the moment. Quartz and I are also working on a kick ass comic. That's all I'll say about that at the moment. Damn, I'm mysterious today. Did I spell that right? Oh well.
June 8, 2002
I updated the page once again. Not much is going on lately. Quartz and I have some song ideas, but nothing is set in stone at the moment. That's all for now shekky!
April 10, 2002
Thugmasta J and I have set the wheels in motion for our next creative crusade. With the Galactic Automatic release behind us and album sales raking in (ok, maybe not), new projects are being spawned. We'll fill you in on them as concrete details are available.

February 21, 2002
Update on the Megacon convention! The album has been coming along nicely in the last week or so. We have recorded 6 of the 13 songs we have planned for the next album: Galactic Automatic. Because we have some songs done, Quartz and I made a promo cd that he will be handing out at Megacon. We didn't make many though, so if you are going to Megacon, and you want one, you're gonna have to find Quartz or Shamus. It has 4 tracks on it. The tracklisting is as follows:
1) Tropical Sphere
2) Sound Storm
3) Mr. Willis
4) Night Frequencies
If you don't get a copy, don't worry, all 4 tracks will be on the next album. I will keep you informed on any new news.
February 12, 2002
Hey MagiTek Fans. Quartz and I are finishing the album. Quartz and Shamus will be at Megacon next week representing. It's not like they have a booth or anything, but if you find them there say yo!
I just added a new rant to the Fresh Text. I'll keep you informed on new developments.
-J
February 1, 2002
WWWUUUZZZZUUUUPPPPPP!
How is it out there in the real world? This is Quartz! J and I have been hard at work on the new MagiTek album, entitled "Galactic Automatic". This project encompasses efforts from up to two years ago, but the real work started about a year ago.
After a million or two setbacks and delays, it WILL be released the week of Feb. 17th. Anyways, pretty much everything on the site has been enhanced or added to, so feel free to check it all out. Expect a rapid influx of updates soon. This is Quartz, signing out.
October 9, 2001
New comic in the comic section. This one is about zombie bikers. And Bruce Willis.
July 31, 2001
Hey, have you ever wondered what a Tekgnome would look like? Or what one is in the first place? Probably not, but we just added a new comic to the comic section about a Tekgnome stealing our memory cards. Not cool. Anyway, check it out to find out what happens.
June 13, 2001
Hey peeps! I just got a scanner! So cool! Anyway, because of this great piece of technology I can add real pictures to the site. That's right. Now you can see what we really look like. We're not just cartoons anymore. Now you can see us and say "Man, those are some ugly fuckers! I wish J never got that scanner." The addition of the scanner also means that there will be more comics more often. This is because drawing a comic on the computer is a pain in the ass. Anyway, enjoy the additions.
April 25, 2001
Hey people! I just added the second page of the MagiTek comic. Feel free to check it out. More to come.
March 31, 2001
MagiTek's first album, "Power Undefined" is now on cd. That kicks ass. Anyway, for the month of April it is on sale for the measly price of $1. That's pretty cheap. I just went to the store and found that a box of Mac & Cheese costs more. So MagiTek or Mac & Cheese, you decide.
March 25, 2001
I updated the site a bit. I added page two of the MagiTek comic series. A little bit of noteworthy news. About a month ago my cousin Head Xero was visiting us on his vacation. While he was here we played around a little bit and made some music. Anyway, the track that we were playing with has advanced a great deal and it might show up on the next cd.
March 15, 2001
Sorry I have not updated this news section in a while, but to tell you the truth, not that much has been going on. Until today. Today we have launched a comic book series on our web page. We hope to update it weekly and it will be one big cool story. As for the musical prospect of MagiTek, we are still working hard on our next album. Hopefully we will be able to put it out by the end of April.
February 15, 2001
MagiTek's memory card, the big boy, has fucked over MagiTek for the last time. It erased a bunch of files. Nothing big was lost because we had earlier versions of the songs saved somewhere else. The only thing of interest that was lost was a song that MagiTek did with HeadXero (J's cousin). Anyway, MagiTek took a hammer and smashed that fucker! The next album won't be delayed because of this event. Just thought you might want to know.
February 1, 2001
Magitek has anounced that a new album is scheduled to be released in April. The band claims that they will have a more mature sound. More info as it arives.
January 29, 2001
Shadow Galactica has left Magitek. That is all.
